Enterprise backup/restore for databases and applications
|
| NetWorker modules are the interfaces between NetWorker and database servers or applications. The interface module communicates with the database and, if necessary, with the application as well in order to carry out consistent online backups and obtain a point in time recovery. If the database storage system offers snapshot functionality, this feature can be integrated into the backup/restore process. Serverless backup (or backup with little impact on the database or application server) is possible using innovative storage devices such as EMC Symmetrix, FibreCAT and NAS systems from Network Appliance. SAP-certified interface modules, meanwhile, are available for SAP R/3 backup. |
